Summary/Abstract: Following a brief biographical introduction, this essay investigates the pivotal function played by memory in the narratives and artistic works of Sanchita Islam, a British multimedia artist of mixed descent who passed away in 2023. Three distinct phases will be distinguished in the artist’s engagement with memory, each corresponding to a different stage of her journey toward self-awareness.
