Summary/Abstract: The significance of writing skills cannot be overstated, as they are crucial for achieving success in professional settings and personal relationships. In our fast-paced world, written communication has become the primary avenue for obtaining information and interacting with other people. From writing emails, reports, CVs, and letters of application to preparing presentations, writing is an everyday task in most professions. The present paper is a review article which discusses approaches to the learning/teaching of writing, the main challenges that students are faced with while trying to develop their writing skills in English for Specific Purposes classes as well as ways to motivate them to develop their writing skills.
