Summary/Abstract: The aim is to present the therapeutic possibilities of Whole Body Vibration (WBV) for influencing the functional activity of the muscles in age-related changes in the knee joint. Materials and methods: For the purpose of this report, a review of current publications in available scientific databases concerning the application and therapeutic effects of Whole Body Vibration therapy in degenerative, age-related changes in the knee was performed. Results: Scientific publications were found showing that WBV leads to mechanical stimulation of the musculoskeletal system. Conclusion: The application of Whole Body Vibration therapy can be considered as an adjuvant therapy to improve muscle function in knee osteoarthritis.
