Summary/Abstract: The paper presents the source materials produced by the members of Commu-nist Party of Germany (Kommunistische Partei Deutschlands, KPD) in Silesia in 1919–1933. The author analysed the party documents and assessed their contents and complete-ness. Changes in the volume of source material thorough the discussed period werepointed out and its uneven chronological distribution was explained. Qualitative changesin the contents of the documents, related to the organisational evolution of the party, werealso addressed. Finally, the specificity of the communist press was analysed and comparedwith the documents issued by KPD.
