With reference to scientific categories in the field of social sciences, and within them the discipline of political science and administration, the aim of the article is also to make political decision-makers at the national and EU level aware of the systemic importance of national parliaments in the integrating Europe. For this reason, the empirical application of the research assumptions contained in the article is fully confirmed in the debate that takes place in many forms of interparliamentary cooperation in the European Union. The article uses a multitheoretical perspective, which in methodological terms is based on the adoption and testing of several important scientific paradigms used to explain the process of the new positioning of national parliaments in the European Union system.
