Summary/Abstract: Handicrafts, which have thousands of years of history reflecting the traditions and cultural values of the society, are an important part of Turkish culture. The art of weaving, which has survived from Central Asia and preserved its importance, is one of the oldest arts in the world. Plain weavings included in tapestry weavings are plain weaves that are woven on horizontal or vertical looms without pile and differ from carpets and tulle (kilim, cicim, zili and sumak) in terms of being knotless in terms of technique. These woven artifacts, which have cultural value, are exhibited in various museums. Amasya Alpaslan Museum is one of the museums where woven works are kept and protected. The aim of this research is to examine the technical, motif, color and composition features of plain weaving samples in the Alpaslan Museum and to reflect the motifs on various textile surface designs. For this purpose, 9 plain weaving samples on display and in storage in the museum were examined. Some motifs selected from the plain weaving samples examined in terms of motif, color and composition were used as inspiration with the theme of "Ethnic motifs". Various gift textile surfaces such as pillows, runners, scarves, sofa throws and cloth bags have been designed. Cultural sustainability has been achieved by reflecting traditional motifs into today's textile design.
