Summary/Abstract: Folk narratives carry the cultural values of the society to which they belong and ensure that they continue for generations by transferring them to future generations. In this respect, folk narratives can be considered as both the carrier and the protector of cultural memory. Köroğlu is one of the leading stories known from the geography of the Turkish world and continues to be told. Considering the geography where he lived and spread, Köroğlu has many branches. Each identified branch is extremely valuable for folklore research. For this reason, Köroğlu branches have an important place in Turkish folk narratives. Narratives that have come to the present day by being transferred from oral and written cultural environments are stored in social memory. In this study, the Bolu Beyi Branch of Köroğlu was evaluated based on Axel Olrik's "Epic Laws of Folk Narratives", one of the methods frequently used in the analysis of folk narratives. According to Axel Olrik, traces of individual and social culture are consciously or unconsciously preserved in narratives. He argues that these traces hidden in the background of the texts can be revealed by analyzing them. Based on these views, how Axel Olrik's epic laws are processed in the narrative and the compatibility of these laws and the story are examined and as a result of the study, it was determined that Bolu Beyi Kolu is in accordance with Axel Olrik's epic laws.
