Summary/Abstract: The legal possibility for people of the same sex to marry is extremely relevant in the Republic of Bulgaria, both from a legal and socio-political point of view. In this regard, there are numerous analyzes of whether and to what extent the country's membership in the European Union introduces such an obligation. In order to answer this question, an analysis was made of the constitutional regulation and the way in which it relates to the legal commitments that Bulgaria has as a member of the EU
