Summary/Abstract: Tourism has become one of the most important activities that transcends political, geographical and cultural boundaries. It is an activity that has a global character and which, apart from being important for economic growth, plays an increasingly important role in improving the quality of life. Tourism affects the social product and the gross national income, then all the economic activities that participate in the creation of the tourist offer, as well as the employment of the population and the level of the social standard. An important function of tourism is the promotion of intercultural understanding and preservation of local culture and heritage. In all these processes, new media and digital technology enable tourism to continuously develop. The media is becoming a key factor in the modeling and promotion of tourist destinations, and in communication that determines tourist supply and demand.
