Summary/Abstract: This paper presents the results of a study on the motivation for choosing a profession in students - future teachers of geography. The conditions that influence its formation as well as the factors limiting or stimulating this process are studied here. Based on the findings of the study, a motivational profile of future teachers is prepared and their concerns and expectations from practicing the teaching profession in the modern Bulgarian school are presented.
