Summary/Abstract: Modern teaching approach aims to put to use diverse teaching methods and techniques. The objective is to place the student at the center of the modern teaching process and enable them to obtain new facts and insights through independent work and active learning. Modern teaching methods, such as project-based learning, are the optimal didactic tools to attain the goals and achieve outcomes of modern teaching. Project-based learning allows for successful integration of content from diverse courses (fields) with the goal of purposeful learning that can boast higher quality, long-term knowledge retention and real-world application. The importance of content integration is reflected in increased levels of learner motivation to engage in this type of work. An elementary school teacher can access plentiful possibilities when connecting courses, since the integration of this sort creates links between various sciences and establishes logical ties between courses. This paper aims to present the correlational aspects of integrated teaching, describe the forms of integrated teaching and cross-curricular links in elementary school teaching, and finally expound on the teacher role in the modern teaching process.
