Summary/Abstract: This paper aims to describe the basic phonological features of the local dialect in the Duboko settlement near Busovača. Dialects of the municipality of Busovača were analysed as part of a research project on dialects in the Lašva river basin. The research has established that the dialects spoken in the Lašva basin (where Busovača is also located) are Novoštokavian Ikavian, but that a narrow strip along the Kozica river in Busovača is Ijekavian Šćakavian. The objective of this paper is to describe the basic phonological units in order to determine whether Ikavian or Ijekavian features are predominant in the local dialect of the Duboko settlement, which is located along the Kozica river, or if it is a mixture of both.
