Summary/Abstract: This study aimed to determine the opinions of experts about "buzzing" exercises and their results, which is an area of debate where there is remarkable disagreement in trombone playing and education. Qualitative data collection methods were used to obtain the data and the research was conducted as a phenomenological study. The participants in this study consisted of 12 professional trombone players/instructors of Symphony, Opera and University Orchestras in Ankara. Expert opinions were collected by semi-structured interview and analyzed using content analysis techniques. The results of this study show that all participants have applied buzzing techniques at some period of their career and had mostly positive opinions about the exercises. Instead, those who expressed negative opinion underlines that these studies are not effective and may even have harmful effects on playing as a result of practice mistakes. The buzzing method was defined as a warm-up exercise by most of the participants. The level of active implementation of these exercises is significantly high and the mouthpiece buzzing is the most applied method. All of the participants stated that they would encourage their students to try buzzing exercises at least once, while the majority of them would recommend these to be implemented in daily practice routines.
