Summary/Abstract: Turkish handicrafts, which takes its source from the thousands of years of human experience, has taken its place in a dynamic of change by keeping up with the modern age over time. Handicrafts, which are an important source of cultural heritage and have been shaped in the society it belongs to, have reached today as a traditional cultural product and as a touristic product, today it constitutes an important income area. The Anatolia’n lands in the past continue their cultural heritage function apart from their economic function. Artificial dolls, traditional headdresses, felt making, basketry, leather work, wood and woodworking, jewelry, lace and needlework, which are among the handicrafts of the traditional culture, reflect the artistic and cultural characteristics of the society they belong to. In the study, artistic handicrafts produced with industrialization and popular culture, which are the returns of the modern age, and traditional handicrafts that are subject to extinction day by day in terms of cultural history are discussed. For this purpose, articles, books, theses and visual data were examined and the context between artistic handicrafts and traditional handicrafts, was indicated with examples.
