Summary/Abstract: Traditional games; provide the cognitive, physical, emotional, and social development of individuals and form the social and cultural foundations of society. In line with the idea that traditional games, as a knowledge-transmitting genre, should be analyzed in depth in culture; it is important to analyze the transfer of humanity to the digital environment with technological developments within the postmodern structure in its cultural context and to examine the effects and functions of their change-transformation. In this article, the “Karlik game”, one of the traditional seasonal/calendar ceremonial games of the Uyghur Turks, which s performed with the participation of each generation from the “baby boom generation” to the “alpha generation”, is discussed in the context of intergenerational and the formal and semantic changes as a result of the digital transfer of the game as technology affects the culture. Change transformation and re-functionalization approach has been put forward. Karlik game provides functions such as having fun competing between generations, establishing and strengthening the bond of empathy, and education, and creating a leisure activity. The game was evaluated by considering the cultural continuity and functionality of the participating actors/performers or sharers in the face of digitalization, such as age patterns, cultural adaptations/integrations, and the use of current technology. As a result of the review, the Karlik game considering its cultural dimensions, has been seen that after it was transferred to digital and re-functioned due to conditions such as cultural migration and modern life, it turned into a structure played between two people with intergenerational participation and instant messaging. It has been determined that game performers in the digital environment have become a structure that is effective among the younger generations, especially the digital age generation, and those who “feel neither old nor young”.
