Summary/Abstract: Every decade of the first half of the 20th century in Kosovo, witnessed distinct cultural trends and activities that were intricately connected to the socio-political contexts of the time. Specifically, the 1940s stood out as a period defined by an increased artistic involvement and cultural advancement. This was evident through the dedication and creative contributions of the members of the artistic-cultural societies (ACSs), who managed to successfully establish platforms for artistic activity across a range of disciplines such as music, singing, dancing, theater, and literature, which resulted with the creation of an inclusive cultural environment for all. Prior to the outbreak of the Second World War, cultural advancements, such as cultural-artistic societies and musical traditions of creating of music, were situated within a cultural landscape characterized by primarily two-dimensional aspects: amateurism and folklore. Given that we are not distanced by numerous centuries from that period, this makes us have a relatively strong connection that prompts us to conduct research studies concerning the musical advancements of that period. These advancements played a nearly decisive role in shaping the musical future of our country. Serving as pioneers in the institutionalized musical realm, the artistic-cultural societies (ACSs) embody an extensive network of artistic integration and progress, with remarkable significance both in terms of historical and (ethno)musicological aspects.
