Summary/Abstract: In October 2009, the University of Vienna organized a two-day workshop titled "Habsburg Monarchy, Russia, Ottoman Empire, America" as a precursor to the 13th International Congress for 18th Century Studies scheduled for July 2011. This event gathered doctoral students from various European countries, including the Czech Republic, Austria, Germany, Romania, France, and Belgium, to discuss their dissertation topics in an open and collegial atmosphere. Moderated by prominent professors, the workshop addressed diverse themes related to the 18th century, fostering stimulating discussions and networking opportunities among participants. The collaborative spirit highlighted the importance of developing Central and European cooperation in research, allowing attendees to compare experiences and methodologies across different cultural contexts. The event not only served as a platform for academic exchange but also aimed to strengthen ties with foreign research centers. Overall, the workshop showcased the necessity of continued collaboration and the sharing of insights in 18th-century studies.
