The Role of the Albanian Corpus in Albanian Language Research and Teaching Work in China

Summary/Abstract: With the aid of computer technology, language corpora and corpus linguistics have developed dramatically. In recent years, copora of different languages have been constructed and put to good use for teaching and research. In order to improve the Albanian teaching and research work in China, we endeavored to build an Albanian corpus. This essay elaborates on the motivation and principles of the construction of such a corpus. After analyzing the role of the corpus in the compilation of the Albanian-Chinese Dictionary and other relevant teaching and research work, the author concludes while calling for more caution and support from Albanian speakers in avoiding the deviation phenomenon in Albania.
