Summary/Abstract: With his complex profile, Mario Roques (1875-1961) has left his mark on several disciplines, among which we can mention the philology of the text, Romance linguistics, the history of the Latin language (Vulgar Latin in particular), the history of the earliest texts in several languages of Europe. The result is an extensive bibliography of his contributions in these fields, evidenced in scientific journals, volumes of studies and compte-rendus of scientific and research institutions in France and other countries. Mario Roques showed a clear interest and attention to Romanian and the Albanian language, focusing on tracing texts that are very important for the history of the corresponding writing. The compilation "Ancient Albanian Texts", Paris, 1932 remains a good guide in matters of method and methodological treatment of works of old Albanian literature, for which he had valuable data and in terms of location of their specimens in some European libraries. With the study preface that introduces the first photomechanical edition of the Latin-Albanian Dictionary (1635) by Frang Bardhi, he made another specific contribution to the history of old Albanian texts and the methodology of their study.
