Summary/Abstract: The 31st International Conference of the Prague City Archives, held in 2012 at Clam-Gallas Palace, focused on "The City in the Upheavals of Confessionalization from the 15th to the 18th Century." The majority of participants, including historians from various European countries, concentrated on issues relevant to the 16th and 17th centuries, with few presentations extending beyond 1700. Key contributions related to the 18th century included discussions on Protestant communities in Gdańsk and Moravia. Topics ranged from the role of Catholic elites in Gdańsk to the confessional disputes reflected in musical dramas. Sixtus Bolom-Kotari’s presentation examined the Protestant communities in Brno and Nové Město na Moravě, highlighting the social and economic factors influencing religious conversions. The conference demonstrated the importance of leadership within emerging Protestant congregations and the complex interplay between religious and social choices in urban environments.
