GOVORIT SPUTNIK: ANALYSIS OF TECHNIQUES PROPAGANDA FROM THE SPUTNIK NARRATIVE INTERNATIONAL IN THE CONTEXT OF WAR INFORMATION

Summary/Abstract: Article at hand examines the Russian press narrative concerning the origins of Russia’sfull-scale invasion of Ukraine in February and March 2022. The subject of this paperis a set of articles by English-language portal Sputnik International examined throughqualitative-quantitative analysis. The primary aim of the study is to describe the Russiannarrative about the parties of the confict in the perspective of propaganda techniquesusage. The work includes: (i) identifcation of active and passive actors, (ii) analysis ofthe mutual relations of key actors, (iii) identifcation of the media narrative concerningpresent confict, (iv) and the determination of the propaganda techniques applied. Theresult is a description of the Russian media narrative with a particular focus on thepropaganda construction within information war context.
