Summary/Abstract: Currently, an impressive number of singers, appreciated as "popular music", have asserted themselves in the performance scene and mass media. What kind of songs are included in their repertoire, how do we qualify them? Folklore or popular music? A question that persists permanently in different environments: study process, performance hall, scientific forums, seminars of cultural departments, etc. Nina Ermurachi (1949-2016), soloist in the folk music orchestra Folklor between 1968-2016, with some interruptions, promoted in her repertoire, mostly, creations taken from the traditional environment, being later placed in another social context.
