Summary/Abstract: The problem of the influence of the Albanian language on the cryptolects of the bricklayers in Bulgaria has been relatively accurately researched thanks to the multiple materials that have been gathered by the scientists in the first half of the previous century. Although, the general analysis hasn't been made so that we come to a conclusion on the way that the Albanian language influenced these cryptolects. There are different hypotheses on the manner the Albanian language has become a part of the lexical background of these phenomena. The most common hypothesis is that the speakers of the cryptolects have learned these words throughout their contacts with other craftsmen during their work migrations. Another main hypothesis claims that there used to be an ethnic Albanian layer in the villages in which the users of these cryptolects lived due to the migration of the Albanians and the words and phrases have been learned by their great-grandfathers. Each attempt to give an answer to these questions is connected to the history of the Albanians in the Eastern part of the Balkan peninsula during the Ottoman rule. Only the use of the historical data could shed a light on the role of the Albanian language for creating these cryptolects. In this context the main question is whether there is a common way of formation or there are different processes of influence by this language? In this article we will try to clarify the general features of the Albanian language that could be found in this kind of speech. The methodology of the research is based on the analysis of the texts, which include materials from different villages, supported by the scientific work carried out until now.
