Summary/Abstract: Patient safety, which is associated with the quality of medical care provided, is the basis of a high-quality healthcare system worldwide. Its mass demand and hospitalizations create prerequisites for the development of infections related to medical care (hospital infections, nosocomial infections), hospitalized morbidity for 2020.2021, as well as the activity and fight against infections related to health care. in the Silistra region for 2017-2021. We used the reports from the activities: MBAL-Dulovo EOOD, MBAL-Tutrakan EOOD, MBAL-Silistra AD. and, hospitalized patients and registered infections associated with medical care (ISMO) for 2017-2021. Reports, analyses, microbiological studies of the Silistra Regional Health Inspectorate, data of the National Center for Infectious and Parasitic Diseases and the Ministry of Health Sofia. Documentary method, historical, partial epidemiological analysis, own observations were used. We accept p<0.05 as the level of significance. Results:We analyze the total number of sick patients for the region for the five-year period 2017-2021, with the covid 19 pandemic.. The number of sick patients (discharged) from medical institutions for 2017 to 2021: are: 25,400 people (2017), (25,619 people (2018), 24,731 people, (2019), 20,265 people, (2020) 20,084 people ( 2021), a total of 116,099 people. A decrease in hospitalized morbidity per 100,000 people was found from 21,001.00 in 2019 to 18,677.00 in 2020. The leading groups in the total hospitalized morbidity are of the respiratory system and diseases of the circulatory system, which leads to the higher need for hospital services and is related to the shortage of specialists in outpatient care. Conclusions. The relative share of the transferred patients of 61.19% is at the expense of "MBAL-Silistra" AD for the entire period, and the infections related to health care are from 1.36% in 2017 to 1.71% in 2021. In the other two hospitals, with low values -0.06% and 0.07% The clinical localization of nosocomial infections is of 14 types with the leading ones: pneumonias associated with intubation 22.2%, surface infections of the surgical site 19%, conjunctivitis 13.6%, urinary tract infections 13.2%.
