Summary/Abstract: Health technician profession is very important in the delivery of health services in our country. However, after obtaining the title of health technician, individuals may experience certain physical and psychological difficulties, which can lead to a tendency to leave the profession. On the other hand, there are not many studies examining the relationships between psychological resilience and career choice. The aim of this study is to investigate the influence of personality traits and psychological resilience on the career choices of future health technicians. A total of 465 prospective health technicians participated in the study, enrolled in the health services vocational school of a state university in Ankara. “Ten-Item Personality Scale”, “Short Psychological Resilience Scale” and “Occupational Choice in Health Technician Scale” were used to collect data. Simple linear regression analysis was applied to reveal the factors affecting the selection of the health technician profession. When analyzing the findings related to the personality scale, it has been determined that health technician students are individuals with lower levels of stress and anxiety. Their psychological resilience, representing the tendency to cope with psychological issues such as stress, anxiety, and depression, was found to be low. On the other hand, students perceive the health technician profession as suitable for their interests and abilities. When examining the relationships between the personality traits, psychological resilience, and career selection tendencies of health technician students, it was found that the personality dimensions of extraversion and agreeableness had a positive significant effect on career choice, while psychological resilience had a negative significant effect on career choice. It has been determined that individuals who are extrovert and adaptable, but with low psychological resilience prefer the profession of health technician.
