Summary/Abstract: The article aims to outline the semantic and syntactic specifics of verbs of auditory perception and sound production. There is a strong semantic relationship between these two subclasses, although the predicates differ in terms of the syntactic realisation of their semantic participants. Five FrameNet frames are analysed in more detail. Their description consists of a definition of the frame and its frame elements and examples illustrating the frame’s use.
