Summary/Abstract: Twitter is officially known as the platform with the highest usage among social media elements. Most of the time, politicians announce their resignations from office, new duties and many issues via twitter. Everything shared in this medium ensures that many people are aware of the subject at the same time. Some countries make legal arrangements to impose restrictions on the use of twitter or to prevent hate and insult crimes. This platform, where posts are made about every aspect of our lives, can also be a great source of data. Posts about migrants and comments on these posts from all over the world provide data for those who want to analyse the subject. In Europe, which is accepted as the cradle of democracy and the source of free ideas, it is seen that there are different approaches and discourses for immigrants, especially for non-European immigrants. With Russia’s declaration of war on Ukraine, millions of Ukrainians had to leave their country. Previously, Syrians and Afghans were in the same situation and left their countries. It is seen that the harsh measures taken by European countries against immigrants from other countries are not valid for Ukrainians. European countries do not accept this situation. However, this situation is reflected in the discourses of many segments of European societies, especially the heads of state. Discourse is an effective, influential and directive method that can be used in many fields. The aim of this study is to analyse the twitter posts of the Presidents of France and Hungary, who are EU members, in the first 6 months of the Ukraine-Russia war and to reveal that the perspective on migrants differs between Europeans and non-Europeans.
