Material and methods: The study was carried out by means of a diagnostic survey, using an original questionnaire survey, among 195 students. Results: 1. The highest percentage of respondents believed that improper dietary management (including eating disorders), lack of systematic physical activity, use of stimulants, chronic stress and insomnia were conducive to an increase in the incidence of T2DM. 2. The AWF students were able to identify options for diagnosing diabetes and knew the main symptoms of hypoglycaemia. 3. The knowledge of academic adolescents on selected aspects of type 2 diabetes varied and was determined by the gender and age of the respondents. Conclusions: There is a need to continuously monitor the style of academic youth and educate them about the risk factors of this disease entity.
