Summary/Abstract: The purpose of the article is to present the problem of ensuring passenger access to railroad infrastructure, in particular for people with disabilities and reduced mobility. The problem of diversity in the technical requirements for adapting railroad infrastructure for passengers is presented. The article characterizes systems and elements of rail infrastructure in Poland and presents formal and legal acts, the requirements of which are the basis in the technical and functional basis for rail infrastructure in Poland and the EU. Available on the platform that the subject of the study is directly related to passengers to the railway infrastructure, one of them is available as part of a detailed analysis of driving systems with specifi c requirements for restrictions and requirements set out in bindings that are technical and legal. It has been shown that the level of harmonization includes ensuring the required safety on the railway with the correct and part of the services in the fi eld of international transport within the Union, it is possible only with the application of specifi c principles of interoperability of railway systems. The issues of taking into account the essential requirements for safety and accessibility specifi ed in the Regulation UE on the technical specifi cations for interoperability relating to accessibility of the Union’s rail system for persons with disabilities and persons with reduced mobility reduced mobility, i.e. PRM TSI. Presented are: “Characteristics to be assessed” in terms of the Infrastructure subsystem, and the requirements to be met, in the design and construction phases, are indicated, as well as examples of demonstrating compliance with these requirements.
