Summary/Abstract: Utopian societies have always attracted unconventional minds. They have often been starting ideas for larger systems of thought, and past ideas of other thinkers have been modified or altered in favor of mundane things like political systems. This paper will focus on one of the first political thinkers to speak of utopia as a social and political system, Thomas Morus. We will see what principles guide the society Morus envisions, touching on key concepts such as private property and freedom.
