Summary/Abstract: This paper analyses the logico-semantic relationships within clause complexes in order to distinguish between ranking and embedded clauses. The first part of the paper presents some of the most frequent contrasting examples between ranking and embedded clauses. The second part discusses the most important conjunctions that can mark different logico-semantic relationships.
