Summary/Abstract: The paper deals with the methods of using lexis at various levels in English language training. The use of the word lexis, instead of vocabulary, reflects a fundamental shift of attitude. Strategies and techniques for teaching lexis are complex and comprehensive and they do not only refer to words themselves, but also to their use in contexts and combinations.
