Bibliography of biographical monographs printed in Timișoara between 1920-1947

Summary/Abstract: A micro-catalog of biographies, autobiographies, diaries, memoirs and other categories of monographs that can be used as bibliography for the elaboration of biographies, printed or published in Timișoara during the period of the Romanian royalty. It is intended to be a useful working tool for those who wish to learn about the life or the cultural-scientific activity of personalities who aroused the interest of Timisoara's publishers and the public of that time. The common element of the selection is the fact that all these books or excerpts are Timișoara's printed works of the period 1920-1947, which gives our approach an explicit bibliographical character, which can become, in its turn, an important study material for the historian of the printing presses of the province of Timișoara. This patrimony can also be exploited in order to take historic snapshots of the Timisoara people's mentality, editorial preferences, interculturality, universalism, but also interest in local history and culture integrated with the world, multi-denominationalism and multi-lingualism.
