Summary/Abstract: The aim of this article is to present samples of the lexical diversity in terms of etymology and semantics that continually appear in the territorial variants of the Romanian language and the lexical mysteries of the regions, the semantic shifts in the dialectal vocabulary caused by folk etymology and the dismemberment of the term adjusted by this process, the phonetic and semantic remodeling produced by [folk etymology], and the conjunctural modification determined by the various associations that folk etymology entails.
