Summary/Abstract: It is obvious that people, by nature, need to relieve their souls of the burden of sins and repent. The Sacrament of Penance offers this natural tendency true divine forgiveness, healing and liberation of the soul. By confessing and forgiving sins in the Sacrament of Penance, the penitent acquires forgiveness, thus becoming prepared to receive the Body and Blood of Christ in the Sacrament of the Holy Eucharist. The importance of the Holy Sacrament of Confession resides in the fact that, by cleansing the faithful of sins, it contributes to the purification and well-being of the entire community and the world. Repentance is, therefore, a spiritual condition that the believer experiences and manifests.
