Summary/Abstract: To talk about Traian Chelariu and his works is to talk about a memorialist from Bukovina, whose writings must be wholy presented to the readers, not only for the fact that he enjoyed the recognition of certain literary critics and historians (Eugen Simion, Nicolae Manolescu, Ovid S. Crohmălniceanu, Mircea A. Diaconu, Gheorghe Grigurcu, Alexandru Dima etc), but also for the statement according to which the reading of his work brings forward a ”life heroically lived” in a fizzy cultural environment, the inter-war Bukovina, but also during a tough period of time, when writers and their work were limited due to the ideology of that time.
