Summary/Abstract: The theme suggested for this issues "Atrium" section is that of fatness. The first two essays go over two interesting artistic perceptions of this phenomenon: the first approach comes from the field of visual arts, dwelling upon the representations of the body in Flemmish painiting, while the second essay is a round-up of the presence of fat characters in various literary and artistic pieces.
