Summary/Abstract: The fragmentary statue – without head, the right hand and shanks – represents a Roman legionary wearing a short coat and an armour. In his left hand, he holds a convex aegis which is decorated with a Medusa head. The legionary is armed with a dagger and a sword. The extremity of the sheath can be seen under the aegis. It is a rare type of statuary monument with funerary character and it is unique in Roman Dacia.
