Summary/Abstract: Cahit Zarifoğlu is a prolific writer who has produced works in poetry, novels, short stories, essays, children's stories, children's novels and children's poems. Although he has produced works in different genres of literature, he is mostly known as a poet. His poems for adults are often described as closed and incomprehensible. Zarifoğlu turned to children's literature in the last periods of his life. He has written novels, stories and poems in the field of children's literature. In these works, he revealed texts for the childhood of adults rather than the principle of being suitable for children. The expression “poetic child language” is used for this approach. In this study, Zarifoğlu's children's poems will be focused on through his poetry books called Ağaç Okul Çocuklar İçin Afghanistan Şiirleri and Gülücük. In his first book, it was aimed to raise awareness about the Afghanistan War, mostly among adults. These poems can also be defined as “poems of ideal” in a way. Zarifoğlu's poet identity is more clearly reflected in children's poems in the book Gülücük.
