Summary/Abstract: The following article theoretically delineates “history from below”, critically analyses its position within broader historiography, and revises its conceptual placement in the narrowcontext of political history, contributing to its concrete typification and systematisation. The article further explores the role of “history from below” in the context of community history. It concretely approaches the process of writing one’s history as a tool for the emancipatory political projects of neglected social groups through the case study of a local anarchist community. In this way, the article outlines the potential research paths for the insufficiently addressed field of “history from below” within political history while confronting systematic tensions regarding its categorisation.
