Summary/Abstract: Eve Ensler considers the female body, which can experience pleasure, as a political space that is equaled with freedom and escapes oppressive disciplinary practices. According to Ensler, access to joy and pleasure is a fundamental right and resource for women most affected by violence to reclaim agency. One of Ensler’s key practices of pleasure activism is dance – unifying, healing and expressing protest. In the work of the author of The Vagina Monologues, like in Audre Lorde or adrienne maree brown, inner well-being is a key element of social and ecological change. This text is a characterization of the feminist-oriented pleasure activism practiced by Eve Ensler, describing its origins and evolution, as well as the examples of the City of Joy Center for helping Congolese victims of sexual violence and the One Billion Rising flash mob.
