Summary/Abstract: The article presents the statistical analysis of rhythm patterns in M. K. Čiurlionis’ piano music. The compositions of the early (1896–1903) and late (1904–1909) periods are compared with Lithuanian and Polish songs in terms of rhythm patterns. The sets of 2/4 and 3/4 meters were considered. The results show that, in comparison with Čiurlionis’ earlier compositions for piano, his later compositions were less influenced by Lithuanian folk music. The later compositions show quite small resemblance both to Lithuanian and Polish folk music.
