Summary/Abstract: The Islamic State logistic "cells" operating on the territory of Europe play a significant role in the recruitment and subsequent transfer of funds to the organization's needs. These structures expose different ways of microfinancing - from petty crime to VAT fraud. Accumulated finances are sent to the Middle East in various ways, including couriers, money transfer and currency exchange providers or the ancient hawala remittance system.
