Summary/Abstract: With the current research we want to launch a hypothesis and, we hope a solution to it: was the kontakia of Romanos the Melodist influenced by one of the forms of syriac literature? The answer to this question we will try to provide by analysing the mimro or Word on the Coming of the Lord, on the Worldʹs Ending and on the Coming of the Antichrist written by Ephrem Syrus and the kontakia On the Second Coming of the Saviour Jesus Christ written by Romanos the Melodist.
