Summary/Abstract: The interpretation of the key fragment of the poem “Conversation With a Stone” leadsto an attempt to read Wisława Szymborska’s entire poetic output as a search for poetictools to activate the “sense of participation” – the human’s conditioned location in thenature–culture environment, the human as a being yet-to-be, and the human as aninherently relational individual. A reading inspired by Jean-Luc Nancy’s philosophicalproposals, with which Szymborska’s poetic resolutions remain surprisingly congruent,is an attempt at a new interpretation of this work.
