Spirituality for a Community Care. The Experience of Bambino Gesù Children’s Hospital

Summary/Abstract: The healthcare system becomes a field of investigation in the search for spirituality, when the human weakness encountered in illness questions nurses and doctors, children and their families about the meaning of life. The paper aims to analyse a case study of Bambino Gesù Children's Hospital. This holistic method allows to interpret statistical data, narrative methods, and participants’ perspectives. The findings underline an original interaction between evidence-based medicine methods, the humanisation of care and the role of spirituality.
