Summary/Abstract: The Lisbon Treaty was encountered by the citizens and political parties of Romania with great enthusiasm, just like all the other post‐communist events (accession to NATO, integration in the EU …). As this treaty doesn’t end the series of reforms, Romania will continue to bring its contributions to its improvement, now in capacity of a member with full rights. At present that enthusiastic spirit to build a common future is irremediably lost, Romania’s position and that of the other citizens of the Union is completely different.
