Summary/Abstract: We know that in public space, the „concert“ orchestra is once called „symphonic“, other times „philharmonic“. What is the history and manifestations of the name „Philharmonic“ in Bulgaria after the Liberation, after 1944 and after 1989? How does this affect the musical life of the orchestras? Do the other two philharmonics in our country today – the Sofia Philharmonic and the Pleven Philharmonic – have the same status and activity? A brief historical analysis.
