Summary/Abstract: In Romanian, there is an important pool of French-origin eponyms that have been adopted since the 19th century. Their appearance in our language can initially be justified by a development in the fields that these eponyms relate to. In the first part there are situated the terms that make up the corpus, listed in alphabetical order from French, the donor language, and the form in which they have been adopted into Romanian. This type of presentation reflects both the written and oral degree of integration into the receiving language. The potential semantical evolution, determined by the way in which they are perceived by the speakers of the host-language, is also indicated.
