Summary/Abstract: The aim of the article is to describe, based on the materials available and found by the author, the fate of several representatives of the Bossk family and their relatives. The limitations in the description resulted from limited access to sources, but also from the author's research starting assumption - namely, limiting himself to the description of those families that are directly related to the author's great-grandfather - Peter Bossk, the founder of the family in Katowice, from which the author of the article also orginates. Although the text describes these family connections in detail, it omits side lines of the Bossk family, which originated in Kolonowskie and the surrounding area or emigrated. The first obtained records date back to 1777 to the Szczedrzyk parish, the next ones were mostly from the records of the Staniszcze Wielkie parish. After describing Peter Bossek’s leave and settlement - first in Sosnowiec, then in Katowice, the author deals with the history of the family already settled in Upper Silesia from the 20th century to the modern times. In addition to the genealogy of the Bossk family, historical threads were also interlarded into the background of certain activities of its representatives, such as the issue of resettlement of families in search of work. The first Bossks were the so-called colonists, i.e. settlers, i.e. they came from other regions, received a piece of land and settled there. Only their children and grandchildren obtained the status of peasant or bailiff, some even held the office of village head. 250 years of history show what problems subsequent generations struggled with. In this respect, the article not only brings closer the truth about the lives of some Bosseks and their descendants, but also shows the atmosphere of those difficult times and the determination in making decisions regarding the fate of family members. The author focused on his own line of the Bossk family, which now lives in Upper Silesia, and did not describe the family that remained in the area of Kolonowskie and where its descendants still live today. He tried to describe as precisely as possible the fate of the children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and further descendants of Peter Bossek, who emigrated from Kolonowskie and started his family with Anna Klemens.
